Travel through the Central Victorian landscape aboard the Victorian Goldfields Railway, one of the area's best-known heritage experiences.
Heritage steam trains run between Maldon and Castlemaine on the old goldfields branch line, which first opened in 1884. The trip takes about 45 minutes each way through box-ironbark forest. Trains only run on set days, so check the timetable before you go.
