What’s On in Maldon This Autumn
Autumn is genuinely one of the better times to visit Maldon — the summer crowds thin, the light turns golden on the ironbark forests, and the town’s event calendar kicks into some of its most characterful territory. Here’s what’s on across March, April and May.
Maldon Swap Meet — March 2026
Held at the Maldon Racecourse Reserve on a Sunday in March, the Swap Meet draws sellers from across Victoria with everything from vintage tools and classic vehicles to cleared sheds and collectables. There’s no need to book — just arrive. A free shuttle bus runs into town during the day, so you can leave the car at the Reserve and walk High Street for lunch before heading back for one more circuit.
Maldon Easter Fair — April 2026
Australia’s oldest continuous Easter Fair. It’s been running for generations and the atmosphere shows it — a town that genuinely knows how to mark the occasion, with stalls, entertainment and the particular warmth of a long weekend when everyone has given themselves permission to slow down. Easter in Maldon books out fast. If this is your reason for visiting, secure accommodation well ahead.
Town Wide Garage Sale — Autumn Date TBC
Around 60 private properties across the town open their gates simultaneously, each mapped on a printed guide so you can plan a route — or simply wander. It ends up being one of the best ways to see Maldon. You walk streets you wouldn’t otherwise find, have conversations you wouldn’t otherwise have, and come home with something unexpected. Check the confirmed date at maldoneaglehawk.com before you travel.
Good to know: All Maldon events run rain or shine. Maldon Events has been organising these gatherings since 2009 and doesn’t cancel for weather.
